Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) Driving Practice Test

At LAX, who can perform escorts and what privileges they carry are controlled by LAWA, the airport’s managing authority for security and access. Escorts must be authorized and registered by LAWA before they can operate in restricted areas, ensuring that only trained and cleared personnel handle vehicle escorts in sensitive zones.

The SIDA badge for the escort team must display two specific icons: an Escort Icon, which grants the authority to escort personnel or vehicles in restricted areas, and a Restricted Area Driver Icon, which authorizes the holder to operate a vehicle within those restricted zones. Having both icons confirms that the person is cleared to both guide movement and drive in secure areas.

FAA does not issue these on-site escort clearances for LAX, and while Airport Police enforce security, the authorization and badge privileges come from LAWA. A Security Icon alone would not cover the vehicle-escort role, and having only one icon would leave either the escort function or the vehicle operation capability unverified.
